FISH BUENO is excited to promote the 19th Annual BD Outdoors Yellowtail Shootout, one of Southern California's premier yellowtail fishing tournaments, taking place June 26–28 in San Diego. The event brings together anglers from across the region to chase hard-fighting yellowtail, compete for cash and product prizes, and celebrate the saltwater fishing community that makes Southern California special. The tournament is expected to draw teams from San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and beyond.
The Shootout weekend kicks off with the mandatory Captain's Meeting on Friday evening at Dana Landing in Mission Bay. Lines officially go in at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, with teams fishing throughout the day before weighing their fish at official weigh stations in Mission Bay or San Diego Bay. The weekend concludes with the awards party on Sunday, where winners will be crowned and prizes awarded.
This year's tournament features a cash purse for the top teams based on their heaviest combined yellowtail weight, along with additional prizes and optional jackpot categories. Tournament standings are determined by a team's three heaviest yellowtail, making every bite count and every decision on the water important.
For Team Fish Bueno, the event is about more than competition. It's an opportunity to put our "Chase Fish. Chase Adventure. Chase Tacos." philosophy into action. We'll be launching before sunrise, hunting kelp paddies, scanning for bird schools, watching the sonar, and doing whatever it takes to put quality yellowtail on the seadoo. Whether we end up on the leaderboard or simply come home with another great story from the water, we're looking forward to sharing the experience with the Fish Bueno community.
